Klein & Hoffman’s Homa Ghaemi, Kathleen Strnad, R.A, LEED AP, E.I.T., and Michelle Ryland, SE, RA had the honor of attending the press conference to unveil the full scope of the Shedd Aquarium’s experience evolution – part of its Centennial Commitment Strategic Plan. As the structural engineer of record for the historic renovation of new exhibit galleries and enhanced guest and educational experiences, K&H’s engineers are excited to be part of the design team to continue the Shedd Aquarium’s ability to connect the aquatic world with its visitors.
Dr. Bridget Coughlin, Shedd President & CEO, was joined by Shedd Board Chair David Koo, Governor JB Pritzker, and Mayor Brandon Johnson for the announcement of the future of the Shedd Aquarium as they prepare for their Centennial celebration in 2030. Residents of the aquarium, including penguins, lizards, snakes, and parrots, also joined in on the exciting news of the forthcoming enhancements to their aquatic world.
