K&H was the Structural Engineer of Record for the bold 209,000 SF 11-story tenant buildout. The structural components included four multi-level communicating stairs and seven associated slab openings, an 1,800 SF rooftop dunnage and 2,400 SF mezzanine to accommodate mechanical equipment for three commercial kitchens, and overall load analysis and reinforcing the existing structure due to increased loading and load path modifications.

Specific project challenges include resolving high amounts of torsion due to new stair openings at the slab edge, reinforcing a highly efficient composite structure, accommodating a fast-paced and fluid schedule, coordinating with a design architect based in New York City, working with a different general contractor for each construction phase, and finishing the project during a global pandemic.
