What happens in Vegas…ends up on social media!
Last week, several Klein & Hoffman team members attended the NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit in Las Vegas to engage with the SE profession and share insights and explore solutions to technical, business, and industry challenges.
In our featured presentation “Deflecting Disaster – Rehabilitating Chicago’s Skyline” Zelina Johnson, SE and Lauren Grana, PE, SE took audiences through the step-by-step methodology of investigation and repair of an existing concrete framed structure that was exhibiting distress in the form of large deflections, high rate of failed repairs, and significant spalling of concrete balconies.
Samuel JiYoon Oh was a recipient of a Young Member Summit Scholarship, covering the cost of summit attendance with travel stipends generously sponsored by Computers and Structures, Inc.
Emily Kerstetter, one of our stellar SE interns, received a Diversity in Structural Engineering Scholarship from the NCSEA Foundation. The scholarship program has awarded more than $130,000 to recipients since its inception in 2021.
Michelle Ryland, SE, RA, a first year Director on the NCSEA Board, participated in several meetings and collaboration sessions with board members, committee chairs, and SEA leaders throughout the week, working to continue to serve the needs of the structural engineering community.
The week was filled with unforgettable experiences, insights, and Elvis look-a-likes…
