Terry McDonnell Joins K&H

Terrence McDonnell, structural and forensic engineer, joins Klein & Hoffman as Associate Principal. McDonnell is licensed in 24 states, three provinces in Canada, and Puerto Rico. McDonnell specializes in glass design and forensic engineering.

McDonnell participates on the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) Committee on the use of glass in buildings and laminated glass walkways, and the ASTM Committee on the standard practice for the design of amusement park rides and the City of Chicago High-Rise Committee. He has over 20 years of multi-service projects with building structures, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sustainability, and transportation.   

“My work combines practical structural engineering expertise with an understanding of modern advancements in the building industry; committing every day to finding new and innovative ways to turn his clients’ ideas into reality,” said McDonnell. “Being a part of Klein & Hoffman allows me to pursue projects best suited to my experience and work with my legacy clients.”

McDonnell is currently leading a glass replacement project at Mid America Towers and is providing general engineering support and training to Evergreen Real Estate Group. Most recently, McDonnell worked on notable projects that include Tilt Chicago, the Belmont Blue Line station and O’Hare Airport Terminals Two and Five.
