Built in 1963, The Eliot House Condominium Building is a 324 unit, 28 story high-rise building with a conventional reinforced concrete frame with brick masonry infill. The building, located at the intersection of Clark and Goethe streets, is the initial building constructed as part of the Sandburg Village Complex and was originally designed by the firm of Solomon Cordwell Buenz & Associates.

Professional Services

Klein & Hoffman initially performed an interior inspection of representative living units to gain an understanding of the existing construction and unique challenges to the program. Following this, we met with Board members, committee members and concerned residents in a series of informative meetings intended to present alternatives, define differences, and ultimately narrow the program options down to manageable choices for the Board of Directors. During construction, we performed daily site visits to review existing conditions following window removal, to observe installation work in progress, and to compile ongoing punch lists for work completed.
