Partially Installed New Stainless Steel Storefront
K&H restoration engineers initiated a collaborative effort with artisans to recreate the storefront of the Edson Keith Millinery Building, designed by Holabird and Roche. Our approach employed modern processes and materials, while maintaining the original design. The concept utilized stainless steel sections brakeformed to create the profile, with laser-cut sheets stacked atop to add the intricate details. Off-the-shelf cast iron rosettes, which anchored the formed sections to the structure, completed the look. By merging a practical approach with historic appreciation, this solution achieved our client’s economic objectives without sacrificing restoration integrity.
