Built between 1896 and 1930, St Paul’s is unique in two respects: it was the first fireproof brick Gothic church in America; and it was constructed without any use of nails.  K&H performed a condition assessment of the exterior envelope and accessible structural systems to develop a structured work plan.  Rehabilitation work included rebuilding of the outer brick wythe at both side altars, extensive tuckpointing, exterior masonry repair, replacement and cleaning, stabilization of both spires, roof replacement and rebuilding of water damaged interior exposed brickwork.
