This high profile facility on the Chicago lakefront required a design to aesthetically compliment its surrounding environment and accommodate a limited site. K&H maximized the limited space available by designing a 50-ft bridge between new and existing buildings and providing for a 240-ft long, steel-framed pipe gallery constructed over the roof of the existing building. The new three-story concrete addition is supported on H-piles and has 30-foot-tall ceilings to house treatment process equipment.
