K&H has been an active participant in an ambitious 15-year master plan for one of the world’s largest indoor aquariums.  The multi-phase expansion and modernization program includes new exhibits, galleries, support facilities and tank-habitat construction as well as extensive structural modifications to address circulation, ADA and other code issues.  Challenges include working in an active facility with staff, patrons, and live animals, being sensitive to the Aquarium’s status as a National Historic Landmark, and working with 1930’s era design and construction as well as subsequent modifications.
