Structural Rehab / Adaptive Reuse:

|

Constructed in 1780 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977, this stone, rectangular-in-plan, two-story church had been retrofitted with slate shingles on its gable roof.  The weight of the slate shingles had overstressed the timber trusses, which had originally carried cedar shingles, causing the walls to bow outward.  Truss analysis was performed and a steel reinforcing system was sensitively designed and installed to preserve the integrity of the historic barrel vaulted ceiling.
