Faced with multi-faceted challenges K&H provided cost effective and aesthetic modifications and additions to this existing water treatment plant. Challenges included: foundation systems that could accommodate varying geologic features and high groundwater conditions along the Mississippi River; support of a 7-foot-diameter by 55-foot-long liquid CO2 storage tank over an existing roof designed for lighter loads; and a column-free building for two 39-foot-tall by 60-foot-diameter hydraulic cone type (HCT) solids contact units.
