Girard Station - Stairway Existing Conditions
SEPTA retained K&H to lead a multi-firm team to design renovations and improvements for three center city subway stations constructed in the early 1900’s. The project’s main objective is to install new elevators, reconstruct stairways, and implement any modifications necessary to provide a fully compliant ADA accessible path from the street level down to each platform. Additionally, these out-dated stations will be transformed into clean and functional facilities using durable, low maintenance, vandal-resistant materials.
