Chapel Before Restoration
Temporary Shoring of Side Walls During Truss Repair Work
Charred Truss Members.
Bicentennial Hall is a “Stick Style Gothic” wood frame building in the shape of a cross. When the building was moved in 1975, critical timber structural members were cut to facilitate the move. Inappropriate connections after the move combined with long-term water infiltration caused the existing roof framing and sheathing to deteriorate. K&H working with a historic preservation architect designed structural truss reinforcement to correct the structural deficiencies.
