Architectural Engineer
Architect or Engineer to manage building restoration and renovation projects in the Chicago office. Ideal candidate will have 5 to 15 years of practical experience performing:
• technical building plan and specification reviews,
• preparation of repair, restoration designs and detailing,
• field investigations,
• problem solving,
• review of drawing preparations,
• bid forms and
• technical specifications for projects involving commercial and large-scale residential building façades, entrances, interior renovations, water leakage and condensation-related problem solving and window replacement.
Candidate will be competent to supervise and mentor intermediate and entry level architects, engineers and field technicians.
Job requirements include proposal preparation, project budgeting and cost estimating, oversight of manpower requirements and project budgets and preparation and negotiation of contracts.
Working knowledge of any/all of the building systems including vintage masonry and terra-cotta, curtainwall and thin stone cladding, windows and storefronts, EIFS, roofing, foundation and plaza waterproofing of interest.
Good interpersonal relationship skills, written/verbal/communication abilities, technical savvy and ability to be self-directed are required. Candidate will have access to in-house structural engineering expertise and support staff. Architectural license or ability to obtained license a must.

Structural CAD Drafter
with 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in structural CAD drafting. Responsibilities include development of accurate and organized computer generated drawings for structural design projects. Daily interaction with engineering staff is expected. Site visits may be required to take measurements and verify dimensions. Candidate must be able to work independently and use in-house and/or client developed drafting standards. Ability to read and understand construction drawings a must. Ideal candidate will have 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in structural analysis, design, detailing, and preparation of construction documents particularly in concrete repair, condition assessment and construction administration. Excellent communication and report writing skills required. Experience with ETABS and STAAD Pro structural design software a plus.
