    Phil has more than 30 years of experience in the structural and architectural evaluation, design, repair and restoration of building facades. Prior to 1980, he performed structural design and construction services for a wide range of building and tank types in the civil/environmental group. He has served as Project Manager on wall restoration projects involving brick, stone, concrete, terra cotta and windows. His responsibilities include development of program requirements, quality control, budgets, scheduling, staffing and overall project coordination. He is the author of articles focusing on the repair of terra cotta and the cleaning of masonry facades.  Phil is a graduate of the University of Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture  (Structures Option).

As Chairman of the Board and CEO, Mr. Boyd is responsible for general oversight of corporate operations for Klein and Hoffman, Inc.  Jon earned a Masters of Architecture (Building Structures) and a BS in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois.

He relocated to Philadelphia in 1978 to open the Northeast Regional Office which he now heads. He serves as an Executive Vice President on the Board of Directors and manages the firm’s Transportation Services Group. Richard has dedicated more than 37 years of diversified experience in all facets of structural and restoration engineering toward improving the quality, safety, reliability and mobility of our nation’s infrastructure.

    As head of the firm’s Civil/Environmental Structures Division, Somsook (Sam) has contributed nearly 35 years of diversified experience in the structural design and analysis of environmental structures associated with wastewater treatment and supply, and treatment and storage of potable water. He has directed the firm’s efforts on several large and small-scale projects in this field from conceptual studies through design and construction related services. Sam has extensive experience in the design of liquid-containing structures in conformance with ACI 350.  Sam is a graduate of the University of Illinois where he earned a MSCE and completed graduate research.  Before moving to the states to attend graduate school he obtained a BSCE from the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

    Adam has worked in K&H’s Philadelphia office since obtaining a MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1988.  During that time he has been responsible for design and design oversight for a wide variety of structures located throughout the country.  Project types he has worked on include wastewater treatment tanks and facilities, rail and vehicle maintenance shops and garages, bridge structures, railroad passenger stations, municipal buildings and airport facilities.  Adam is skilled in preparing designs that allow existing facilities to remain in operation throughout construction.  Adam is also a graduate of Hofstra University where he obtained a BS in Civil Engineering.

    David is the Director of our New Structures Group with more than 20 years of design experience in a variety of buildings and special structures. He is actively involved in a number of national technical committees. Following 9/11, David participated in the investigation of World Trade Center Towers 1, 2, and 7, and was the primary author on major reports detailing the methods and codes used during the design and construction of these famous structures. David is a native of Chicago and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where he earned a Doctorate and BS in Structural Engineering and a Masters in Civil Engineering (Structural).

She combines this experience with an affinity for sustainable designs and an appreciation for clients’ budgetary constraints.  Homa’s work has taken her as far as Taiwan, China and Puerto Rico, on projects in the adaptive reuse and restoration arena, as well as new construction in the hospitality, education, healthcare, telecommunication and food manufacturing industries. Homa completed her B.S/M.S studies in Civil/Structural Engineering at The Ohio State University and earned her M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management, EMP77,  at Northwestern University.

Clients include public and private institutions, religious organizations, government agencies, condominium associations, commercial retailers and corporations. As Restoration Group Leader he supervises technical staff in the preparation of reports, architectural details, cost estimates and construction documents. He also performs on-site investigations and evaluations of existing structures and provides construction support services.  Bob is the 2011 laureate of the Richard Morris Hunt Fellowship, holds degrees in architecture, historic preservation and civil engineering from Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania, and teaches in the historic preservation program at Philadelphia University.
